In the glass CastelGiocondo 2014 is a beautiful deep ruby red colour. On the nose the fruity notes predominate, ranging from raspberry to currant, with vague hints of blueberry; the elegant floral note that emerges after a few moments is tingling and surprising: unmistakable hints of violet. If you leave it to open, the spicy and tertiary notes due to the long aging are released. Cinnamon, pepper and leather follow each other and on the finish, reminding us of its extreme elegance, there is a balsamic touch. In the mouth it totally envelops and impresses with its harmony, its dense tannic texture and mineral sensation. Long and persistent finish.
Sangiovese grapes were harvested by hand and once they arrived in the cellar they were subjected to a scrupulous selection. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with frequent racking, especially during the early stages. The wine was subjected to a long aging in wood, where it had the opportunity to mature, refine and balance. This is followed by a period of 5 years in the cellar and a further ageing of a few months in the bottle.
