Description

Teeling Single Malt is an Irish whiskey with a special aging history. It contains whiskey of different ages (including some from 1991!) and the aging takes place in an impressive number of different casks, which have contained a wide selection of the world's wines: red wine casks (Cabernet Sauvignon), white wine casks (Burgogne) as well as sherry, port and Madeira. It sounds a bit like a mess, and a confusion of styles, but we just have to say that it all adds up to a higher unity here. Reviewers call it "a symphony of taste". We just think it tastes great.

The nose gives fresh aromas of melon, figs, caramel and lemon. On the palate there are notes of dried fruit, citrus, vanilla, spice and cloves. It ends with a long, sweet aftertaste with tannins from the many barrels.

Teeling Single Malt is a powerhouse of rank, showing that whiskey doesn't always have to be very old to be very good. Bottled at 46% alcohol without chill filtration.
