The Barossa is home to what is believed to be the worlds oldest surviving cabernet. Since the 1950s the variety has been prized in the district and Langmeil has championed Old vine Garden Cabernet.
Arthur Jackaman is the sort of larger than life character that the Barossa attracts and adapts as its own. WW2 paratrooper, butcher, boxer and 'jack of all trades'. Arthur's farm and Old vine Garden on the outskirts of Lyndoch is as famous as Arthur is colourful.
Jackamans cabernet is a low yielding, gap-toothed Old Vine Garden still surrounded by some rustling relics from decades of Arthur's quests, the backdrop as unique as its bounty.
